Ortega

Ortega is a white grape variety created in Germany in 1948 by crossing Müller-Thurgau and Siegerrebe. Bred for early ripening and high sugar levels, it thrives in cooler climates such as England and Wales. Ortega wines are typically aromatic and low in acidity, offering flavours of ripe peach, apricot, and honey, with floral and tropical nuances. Known for its versatility, Ortega contributes to a wide style of white wines across Northern Europe, producing everything from fresh, easy-drinking styles to lusciously sweet dessert wines with rich, concentrated fruit character.
