Sylvaner

Depending on where you find this (i.e. where it is made) Sylvaner can be either a pretty decent, dryish white from Germany and Alsace, or a pretty bland, everyday quaffer from more volume orientated areas. If the yield is controlled then the sweeter styles work well, but the winemaker must want quality first, not quantity.
