French Favourites - Mixed Half Dozen

This estate is run by brothers Arnaud and Albéric Lechat. Super, elegant Sauvignon Blanc with lovely weight of gooseberry fruit and a beautiful mineral element on the finish.

A fresh, crisp wine to be savoured on its own or as an apéritif. Alsace excels at this style. The co-operative at Pfaffenheim, just to the south of Colmar, is an excellent source of pure, fruity, dry whites.

Sourced from a family domaine in the Gers, this juicy, racy rosé has been a fantastic success since release. Vibrant summer fruits nose and a soft strawberry flavour mean one bottle isn't enough!

The rosés of Sancerre are made from Pinot Noir, not so surprising as Sancerre is closer to Burgundy than to Muscadet! This dry rosé is deliciously light with strawberry fruit so is ideal as an apéritif or with a light meal.

Pretty nose of red summer fruits with some plump, creamy blue fruit notes. Medium-bodied, round and juicy with good volume and supple tannins, offering long flavours of peppery spices over crisp red fruit. Very enjoyable drinking.

A big, silky wine from this most charming region, shows lovely cassis and cherry fruit on the nose and palate. Juicy and long with a touch of spice on the finish. Super now, it will show even more complexity in a year or two.
