Despite cropping up in tiny quantities grown in Burgundy, Canada, Russia and Japan, the best place to find Pinot Blanc is Alsace where it has more reserve, more structure but some classy style when compared to its more butch relation, Pinot Gris. Otherwise, decent quantities of a light and fresh style are produced in Northern Italy, while you’ll find there is more richness and spice in German and Austrian Weissburgunder.
